The UN General Assembly ratified this decision on December 5, 1980, and urged governments and international, national and local organizations to contribute to observing World. As far back as 1945 the United Nations recognized food as not a privilege, but a right, and that's why they created World Food Day, observed annually on October 16, in 1979 Launching at FAO headquarters on the occasion of the 80th anniversary and World Food Day 2025, this permanent exhibition and educational experience for visitors will be dedicated to food and agriculture, our connection to it and the Organization's mandate.The project is supported by Italy's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International.
